YVES SAINT LAURENT L’AMOUR FOU

The latest in a string of fashion themed documentaries, following on from Lagerfeld Confidential, Valentino: The Last Emperor and The September Issue, comes Yves Saint Laurent L’Amour Fou. We reported on this earlier in the year, along with a YSL inspired soundtrack by French composer Alain Chamfort and a possible musical in the making. IFC Films has just announced its acquisition of the French documentary to be released in 2011. The film uses rare footage to chronicle the love story of Saint Laurent and partner Pierre Berge, through life and death and interestingly, looks into Berge’s decision to sell their multimillion dollar private art collection. Amazing, rare archives and exclusive images — some of which can be seen have been compiled and will surely be a must watch for any fashionista, with inspiration from Yves Saint Laurent muses like Betty Catroux and Loulou de la Falaise, who have been interviewed.
