Wasting no time after being released from prison early, Lindsay Lohan is straight on to getting her derailed career back on the right track. In the October issue of Vanity Fair, Lohan says her behavior has been “irresponsible” and that while she is not making excuses, she definitely wants her career back.

She goes as far as acknowledging that she is a good actress and that her partying lifestyle caused her to be sidetracked and to essentially forget what’s important. The young starlet can’t help but keep falling back into trouble, and has little empathy from Hollywood. She is even considering returning to her native New York to focus on her work without the distractions of the LA party scene which gobbled her up.

In the interview she discusses her dysfunctional family, damaged reputation and why she thinks her life fell to pieces after her meteoric rise to fame. The accompanying shoot shows Lindsay lounging in the sun on the deck of a yacht looking glamorous and melancholy with 1940s styling. It’s clear she is at a cross roads in her life and if her words to Vanity Fair are any indication, let’s hope she can get herself together this time!
