TV ON THE RADIO TO PLAY HARVEST FESTIVAL

In this day and age of each and every band having their own Facebook page, Twitter profile, personal websites and other social engagement tools, it’s often easy for someone in the management team to accidentally slip up and reveal details about upcoming news just a little too soon.

We saw it with the leak of Vivid Live acts on the Opera House’s website earlier this year, and a bunch of acts for Splendour In The Grass 2011 announced themselves via Twitter or Facebook, before official announcements; and it seems that it’s gone that way with iconic NYC rockers TV On The Radio, who – whether accidentally or not – have announced themselves to be playing November’s Harvest Festival.

The band “announced” their place on the lineup, which also features the likes of The Flaming Lips, Portishead and Bright Eyes, via their Facebook page, through the creation of Facebook event profiles for Harvest festival dates in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne.

TV On The Radio tragically lost bassist Gerard Smith in April, following the release of their stellar fourth album, ‘Nine Types Of Light.’ Drummer Jaleel Bunton has been filling in on bass on TVOTR’s recent tour dates.

Harvest is expected to properly release its second lineup very soon. See Harvest Festival’s website for more info.
