TOPSHOP UNIQUE AW11 INSPIRED BY DISNEY

When it comes to Disney villains, is there one more fabulous than Cruella De Vil?

Fur coats, bi-colour hair, red elbow-length gloves… Growl! Finally, the devious diva is getting her due. Taking Cruella’s wardrobe as the starting point for their AW11 collection, Topshop has done the old girl proud.

Styled by Katy Grand, the show saw models strutting down the runway with hair moulded into Minnie Mouse ears, painted on puppy dog noses, dalmation-print nails by Sophy Robson and, of course, faux-fur here, there and everywhere!

Besides the spotted nails and puppy dog noses, the makeup was quite minimal. As makeup artist Hannah Murray told Grazia, “It’s a real Topshop girl: raw skin and worn-in black eyeliner.”

The whole affair smacked of Hollywood glamour made fun by doggy silhouette prints, flouncy feminine detailing (like frills and ruffles), spotted accessories and cut away midriffs.

Our pick of the lot? The 1930s New York skyline print dresses. A reverie in silk.
