Yep, even MORE additions to the mammoth Splendour In The Grass lineup. Just to make planning your daily timetable a little bit more difficult…
They’re not content with bringing out the likes of Jack White, Bloc Party, Smashing Pumpkins and a million more, and the “other stages” lineups including some of Australia’s biggest DJs. No, now Splendour have released details of the Splendour forum, as well as comedy and film showing over the big weekend.
First, the Splendour Forum will be hosting panels and debates including “Rock Gods – Supernatural Talent or a Talent for the Supernatural?”, “Is the Internet Ultimately Good For Democracy?” and “Sustainability: How Do We Power The Australia of Tomorrow?” with panellists including John Safran, Tom Ballard (JJJ), Kav Temperley (Eskimo Joe), Kram (Spiderbait), MP Rob Oakeshott and Dominic Knight (The Chaser).
Also on show will be the popular ‘Women of Letters’ (Kate Miller-Heidke, Patience Hodgson of The Grates, Muscles, Nina Las Vegas and Yacht Club DJs) and ‘Songwriter Speak’ sessions with Josh Pyke, Jordi Davieson (San Cisco), and Emma Louise.
The film component will include a special advance showing of Mumford and Sons documentary ‘Big Easy Express’ on Thursday night, as well as the premiere of the Shihad film ‘Beautiful Machine.’ And finally, Wil Anderson, Catherine Deveny, Tom Ballard and Dan Ilic will be taking the stage for comedy performances over the weekend.
