The Task
Over the next two weeks, two teams of filmmakers will be coming together to develop one story, one chapter at a time. But there’s a catch. Each team will only be able to see the last ten seconds from the previous chapter in the story. They will then need to continue the story, using only this and their imagination to bring it to life, before passing it back to the other team to continue with the next chapter.
The Challengers
We’ve got two great teams of aspiring filmmakers on board for our Samsung competition; Seaton Kay-Smith and Nick Hunter, vs Alex Goddard (going it alone), and we’ll be posting a new chapter every second day on the Groupie blog for you to follow. Seaton and Nick are two actors and filmmakers who are currently producing a short film for next year’s Tropfest, while Alex has previously created video content for Oyster Vision and done some film direction in the fashion industry. We can’t wait to see what this very different mix of talent comes up with!
The Battle Begins!
Seaton and Nick won the toss and elected to take the camera first and lay down the first chapter. With 24 hours to begin the story with the first 60-90 seconds of the film, the boys have come back with the above clip! As intelligent as a man and as fearsome as a koala, Seaton and Nick introduce the MAN BEAR.

Man Bear should sell the camera and buy himself some ears!
