The latest offering from Sass & Bide is a beautiful collection entitled ‘Pappa Sucre’, meaning sugar daddy in Italiano. Very fitting indeed for a collection so heavy with embellishment and glitz. This season gold’s have been replaced with a more demure bronze, featuring in beading, metal neck pieces, belts and some fantastic shoes. The selection of digital prints have been particularly successful, a favourite being the fire print, as well as the incredible scanned tinsel. So good! Snake skin print jeans are also a highlight.
Drapery has always been a big thing for Sass & Bide and this season has been re-worked into long sleeve dresses, pants that can change from baggy to pegged, and also sweeping collars. Raffia is also a feature product, worn as neck ruffs in the LFW show, and also fashioned into skirts and jackets, as modeled by the lovely Jacs in our shots. We love it paired with the striped knit, as also seen in the show. Denim is what the Sass & Bide brand started with, and is as always, a very strong section of the collection. The new length is definitely the ‘cropped above the ankle’ jean, seen in a variety of prints, such as the aforementioned snake and fire print. Very cute. We also loved the chambray shirt and denim jacket combo, secretly stitched together to create the illusion that you are wearing both. Clever cats.
We loved this collection, and think it’s a great evolution for Sass & bide. The new fancy showroom is spectacular too. Special mention goes to the red frogs too. Thanks girls!
