Having interviewed Sara for our next issue (out Thursday), it was great to finally see the work behind the words. The show began with structured undergarments which could be spotted throughout the show; peeking under flippy dresses or right before you in high-waisted hot pants, cut-out panels defining jutting hip bones. It was definitely a girly affair with a pastel palette of light blues, dusky rose, summer whites and a pink painted cityscape print. One pleated dress came in three different colours, a dream shopping list strutting down the catwalk. Covetable it was.
Tailored blazers and frill pocket trousers are sure to be popular, as well as sexy sheer shirts and silky shorts. Grey knits and an art-deco print cardigan provided a little cover. It was the shot of Wild West that appealed most though from the simple accessories of black silver-tipped belts to steely Stetsons worn back from the model’s quiff and a fierce pair of camel jodhpurs. Soft suede hugged in high-waisted shorts, zipped tops and short sleeve dresses. When Dolly Parton’s ‘Jolene’ rolled on it wasn’t just the models tapping their heels (a Hoedown was heeded when one poor model took a slip).
