Samsung came to Pagesdigital to help with the launch of the Samsung U10 HD camcorder, the smallest HD camcorder in the world.
Pagesdigital developed a competition called ‘Shoot and Share’, a unique competition which challenged the two teams of filmmakers to piece together a story, each team independently producing alternating chapters. Additionally, two obstacles stood in their path; the only reference in filming their continuation of the story was the last ten seconds of the previous chapter, and each chapter required the introduction of a new character, who must shoot the next chapter from their point-of-view.
The competition saw Seaton Kay-Smith and Nick Hunter, two aspiring actors and filmmakers currently developing several short films and even a television pilot, taking on Alex Goddard, a fashion director and editor.
And so the story of the Man Bear was conceived, with Seaton and Nick introducing a Man Bear hunter who seeks his ultimate prize, trekking into the wilderness where the beast gets the better of him. The ensuing story turns full circle as the teams traverse genres and musical interludes in a funny and entertaining journey.
Ultimately, Seaton and Nick were judged competition winners, taking home two Samsung U10 cameras, and picking up a gig working for Pagesdigital in 2010.
