Rumours were flying and pulses were sent racing this morning, as Radiohead were confirmed joining the Stone Roses as headliners for Japan’s Fuji Rock Festival. The Japanese festival typically shares many acts with Splendour In The Grass, so Fuji Rock snaring these two massive acts seemed to lock in one or both to headline our own July festival.
However, Splendour organisers were quick to dispel any rumours about a long-awaited and oft-rumoured Radiohead tour here, saying that neither Radiohead nor the Stone Roses would be playing Splendour 2012.
“Re the speculation about Radiohead @ SITG this year, we’d like to officially dispel these rumours, unfort they’re not playing Splendour 2012,” Splendour In The Grass (@SITG) tweeted earlier today.
“And while we’re here… brace yourselves… ditto for The Stone Roses, they won’t be playing Splendour 2012 either,” they continued.
Sad news for Radiohead fans; looks like we’ll be waiting a little longer for Thom Yorke & co. to get out here!
