Gigs + Festivals News

A few weeks back, Pyramid Rock announced its first run of acts for their three-day festival across the NYE/NYD period, including some local heavy weights like Karnivool, Xavier Rudd and Children Collide as well as international guests Anti-Flag and Blood Red Shoes. Now, the festival has announced an extra batch of great Australian acts, both big and small, to join in on the festivities.

Heading up the announcement is Pnau, who have had a massive run of late with their fourth studio album Soft Universe and their UK number-one Elton John collaboration, Good Morning to the Night. The band have a solid reputation as one of the most fun Australian dance acts to see live, so their announcement certainly makes the premise of new year’s in Phillip Island a bit more tempting. Also performing will be Van She – whose brand new video, Jamaica, was dropped here just yesterday – as well as singer-songwriters Kate Miller-Heidke, Gossling and the little Melbourne punk band that could, The Smith Street Band.

Tickets for the festival will go on sale next Tuesday, September 4th, via the usual outlets.
