A competition launched in London by RIBA and London’s Pleasure Gardens, asking architecture students, graduates and emerging practices to submit designs, funded the winning entries to showcase around the Royal Docks for the London Festival of Architecture 2012.

Timely coinciding with the 2012 Olympic Games, the benches displayed in East London are a fun and interactive way to show off the talented ideas as well as a wonderful chance to improve the dockside site. Seating is an important part of outdoor spaces, allowing people to sit, relax, take in the atmosphere and immerse themselves in culture.
