Sir Paul McCartney, the original purveyor of the “silly little love song”, has reportedly recruited uber cool British producer and DJ Mark Ronson to work on his next album!
This unlikely pair met at Paul McCartney’s wedding to Nancy Shevell in 2011 where Ronson was Djing. The Sunday Mirror reported the news of this new collaboration with an unnamed telling them, “they went to the studio and started knocking about together to see what they can do together. Everybody’s really excited about the prospect of Mark working with Paul.”
Paul released his 15th solo LP earlier this year in February. The release was called ‘Kisses On The Bottom’, and it was an album of jazz and pop covers. With his next album, however, Paul wants to create a more contemporary album. As the Sunday Mirror source said, “Paul respects Mark’s knowledge and is wanting to produce a classic album with a young hip edge. And obviously Mark is over the moon to be working with a Beatle.”
This is actually really exciting news… Ronson’s producing effort with Rufus Wainwright’s last album ‘Out of the Game’ was utterly superb.
