This week we will be getting an insider insight into the world of Australia’s most important buyers, Eva Galambos of Sydney’s Parlour X. We spoke last week of her brand new online store, due to constant national demand. Galambos buys the summer season from Australia, but concentrates on the international shows for her winter stock. We caught up with her this morning to see what she’s looking forward to for the week.

“I already stock Fernando Frisoni, Camilla and Marc, Romance Was born, Kirrily Johnston and Zambesi, so will be eager to see these shows.” And for the week to come, Galambos is looking to all the brands showing for the first time, namely Christopher Esber, Phos Phoro and A.Concept – fresh from Project Runway. According to Galambos this is “a standout. Definitely avant-garde and could sit alongside Comme Des Garcons and Junya Watanabe. An incredible talent”. Well we look forward to that one!

Also on the cards are Konstantina Mittas, hopefully to be “a surprise” and “a carry through from last year”, Gail Sorronda, Dion Lee and Lui Hon. The New Generation shows are always not to be missed, as is the TAFE show happening on Thursday. This year marks a special year for TAFE, with all four designers from “Four Boys” two years ago, featuring this year. Christopher Esber will kick things off today, followed by Spencer Webber for Phos Phoro, Dion Lee, and Guy Hastie for Ksubi.
