Over the weekend of 26-28 November, Newton’s Nation extreme sports and music festival will take over the famed mountain. The days will feature some of Australia’s finest BMX and skateboard riders, alongside luge, downhill inline skating and wakeboarding; while the evenings will see some of Australia’s finest music talent take to the stage.

Birds of Tokyo, Bliss N Eso, You Am I, Operator Please, Children Collide and Philadelphia Grand Jury are all part of the lineup. With Birds of Tokyo up for a number of ARIA Awards, You Am I coming off the back of a national tour, and Philadelphia Grand Jury playing some of their first shows after returning from a stint in the United Kingdom, it’s set to be a killer weekend of music and sport.

The festival will also host the MGP D-Day Scooter Competition taking place during the 2010 festival. With scooter becoming the most rapidly expanding action sport in Australia today, and Australia boasting some of the best freestylers in the world, competition is set to be tight. Add $2,000 prize money, 12 other action sports, a huge music lineup & thousands of adrenaline filled spectators into the mix and the MGP D-Day Comp will definitely stake its claim as one of the country’s best showcases of the sport.
