After achieving monumental success with their fourth album ‘Only By The Night’ released in 2008, Kings Of Leon have just announced the release of their fifth. ‘Come Around Sundown’ will be available in mid-October, and faces an enormous challenge in facing up to its predecessor that achieved almost 10x platinum status in Australia (sales in excess of 630,000), 8x platinum in the UK (more than 2,410,000) not to mention its incredible success in every other territory.

‘Only By The Night’ was a breakthrough that occurred to the delight of fans that had followed the Nashville-based band of brothers and cousin since their debut in 2003. There goes a story in the music industry that as the first single ‘Sex On Fire’ gained momentum in the charts, one of the very senior executives of the record company – which by this time had released three previous albums of the band – had just realised that the band members were related, and asked if everyone knew this information. This provided much amusement to those present, who had previously welcomed the band into their offices and enjoyed their music for several years.
