Design savant Karl Lagerfeld has never been one to hide his penchant for very particular pretty people. In recent months, his petite pussy Choupette has dominated all aspects of his life, even inspiring an accessories collection for Chanel’s latest runway outing. Back in the day, when Zoolander-esque male model Baptiste Giabiconi was flavour of the month, Karl went the creepy confectioner’s route and crafted a lifesize chocolate sculpture of the professional pouter.

The designer’s latest collection for namesake diffusion line Karl By Karl Lagerfeld does little to stray from his reputation. Enlisting current favourite Saskia de Brauw(she recently fronted Chanel AW1213 and the label’s monochrome SS12 campaigns) and perennial man muffin Baptiste front of house, the shoot also features Anja Rubik and Sui He. The clothes themselves are pure Karl, all tightly tailored and black, black, black. The campaign does have more than a touch of Men In Black about it, but we’ll forgive Lagerfeld because we really, really want to get our hands on that sequinned sweater.
