Country Road is one of my favourite Australian labels of all time. It must be something to do with the fact I grew up with it, and all the women around me wore it. I finally knew I had made it in the world once I received the holy grail – my special media discount card. That is one seriously hard card to get! It also helped that I shopped there on a regular basis, especially for homewares. Country Road make some killer things for the home, always on trend and in a great range of colours. The clothes also follow current trends to produce great, wearable basics and wardrobe staples. It’s just the go-to for everything, really.
Because of this, we always look forward to seeing the new campaigns each season. Country Road generally find some great international models and always have a seasonally fitting location. For SS2013 the team headed to an overgrown succulent garden to shoot a series of fresh, summery looks. You can expect a lot of cotton lace-work for summer, as well as clean, white skirts and tops, generally worn with flat sandals. Soft pastel shirting is a key trend, always kept undone a few buttons and tucked into short shorts. The pages team is loving the mint green variety – our colour pick for summer.
