Cult Italian fashion label Marni have announced that 2012 will see the release of the brand’s first perfume. Founders Consuelo and Gianni Castiglioni will release their premiere fragrance through Estée Lauder. The forthcoming scent will no doubt capture the peculiar charm that has forged a niche for the label, which is known for its unexpected interplay of unusual textures and playful prints.

On the more democratic end of the scent spectrum, those with a nose for the ubiquitous celebrity fragrance are in for a treat. Madonna is reportedly in talks with perfume giant Coty to lend her name to a bottle of the sweet-smelling stuff. Presumably, it won’t have top notes of hydrangea.
