MARDI GRAS TO BE BROADCAST ONLINE

Optus have teamed with Mixitup for a world-first online broadcast of Sydney’s Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras.

The iconic event will be shown online for the very first time in 2012, with Optus to produce video programming including behind-the-scenes footage and highlights of the festival. The Sydney Mardi Gras will be available for viewing by the entire world at mardigrastv.org.au, with the parade to be shown on Sunday March 4 from 7.30pm

2012 marks the 34th year of the Mardi Gras, drawing over 20,000 international tourists each year.

“The agreement with Optus now means distribution of this year’s event will also be global,” said Greg Segal, managing director of mixitup, who devised the Mardi Gras TV concept and partnership.

Keep an eye on mardigrastv.org.au for video highlights and streaming of the Mardi Gras!

wouldn’t a “live online” broadcast happen at the time of the parade.. not the next day…. slightly misleading.. and incorrect
