Proving the fact that fashion changes faster than the speed of light in the last year we’ve seen skirts go from mini to floor length and everywhere in between. Now though, is the moment for the A-line skirt.

Strict in its utilitarian shape, the austere appeal of the A-line makes it key for the moment. With that in mind, the look is at its best in a sharp cut constructed from a luxurious piece of cloth. If you have more dash than cash, head to Spotlight, buy a pattern and make one yourself!

The final effect will depend on the fabric: choose a vintage 1960s tablecloth print and think Prada/Anna Wintour chic, opt for  navy or camel wool/cashmere and you’ve got a Celine look, or go wild with leather and DIY embroidery if you’re feeling like a Christopher Kane juvenile delinquent. Easy! And right on trend.
