The Killers are back in business with an upcoming album and new single just premiered overnight.

After announcing the album last month, The Killers have confirmed that fourth album ‘Battle Born’ will be released on September 17. The first single, ‘Runaways,’ has also been shared by the band. A big, epic 80s power-rock anthem, with a massive singalong chorus and booming drums, it’s no doubt destined to become an instant fan favourite for The Killers. Equal parts Elton John and Bon Jovi, it’s a great, fun, uplifting track.

‘Battle Born’ is one of our most anticipated albums of 2012, it being The Killers’ first album in over four years. Other confirmed tracks on the album include ‘Heart Of A Girl’, ‘Flesh And Bone’ and ‘Carry Me Home.’

Still no word on The Killers coming back to Australia, but no doubt they’re on the radar of a number of our summer festivals; we wouldn’t be at all surprised to see them show up on Big Day Out or Falls Festival.

Check out ‘Runaways’ below.
