The pastel-coloured little sweet treats set temptingly in the picture-perfect window of a Parisian patisserie have always reminded me of the ultimate fairy-tale makeup counter. And now the world famous French macaron maker, Ladurée, has been inspired to make every makeup artist and beauty editor’s fairy tale a reality. In collaboration with Japanese makeup manufacturers, Albion Cosmetics, who bought us equally as beautiful makeup packages for Anna Sui and Paul & Joe, the collection will include blushes, foundations, and lip colors inspired by the delicacies.
Standout in the range is the divine ‘Face Color Rose Ladurée’. Available in 3 shades, the powder blush has been pressed into delicate rose petals set in a Faberge egg styled case. The pressed powder products have been embossed with LaDurée cameo. The collection also includes:
Cream Cheek Base (5 shades)
Pressed Cheek Color (20 shades available in refills and case and brush)
Rouge (7 shades)
Translucent Makeup Base
Color Control Base
Smoothing Base
Stick Concealer (2 shades)
Fluid Foundation (3 shades)
Face Powder (4 shades available in refills and case with puff)
Cheek Brush
Face Powder Puff
Hand Mirror
Sadly, the collection is only available in Japan, however set to hit the shores of Asia and the rest of Europe later in the year. Maybe this will be the start of a new trend in cosmetics; just think of the possibilities… Adriano Zumbo’s bronzing powder tower, Herbie’s Spices pigment powders, Maggie Beer’s quince paste lip balm, Hank’s Jam nail polishes – food for thought indeed!
