Hold those getaway plans for this October long weekend as Sydney’s premiere party house is turning one year old in a very big way! From September 30 to October 2, GOODGOD Bar & Danceteria will host a mini festival of three very over-proportioned parties!
Friday kicks off with a ‘Birthday Bashment’ seeing the UK’s biggest dancehall actGappy Ranks land for an exclusive live show, alongside party-rap DJ gals Hoops, future indie R’n’B kid Guerre, 80’s funk freak Toni Toni Lee, Sydney’s hypest African hip-hop crew K1 and bass’n’booty DJ champions Kato, Levins, Jimmy Sing & Judgement, Huggz and Max Gosford.
Saturday’s crazy 12 band lineup is GOODGOD’s party showcase of the next BIGGEST garage, psych and indie electronic bands in the country: a chartered bus from Melbourne delivers us a riot with The UV Race, Super Wild Horses and The Twerps to play alongside Belles Will Ring, Melodie Nelson, Kill City Creeps, The Atom Bombs and psych dance-jam bands Holy Balm, Fishing and Forces.
Sunday’s GOODGOD All-Stars bonanza, sees the return of the GOODGOD House Band presented by the Midnight Juggernaut’s Daniel Stricker. This is GOODGOD’s big occasion band who play energetic garage rock covers of 80’s / 90’s dance hits and are fronted by an always amazing rotation of Stricker’s special guest friends! Two more of the country’s must-see live acts – Melbourne’s Oscar & Martin and Sydney’s disco keyboardist legend Donny Benet – will play amongst an all-in dance-a-thon stoked by those who rock the club’s resident club nights such as Jingle Jangle, Slow Blow, Hole in the Sky, Yo Grito, Special Moments and Love Kings.
The weekend’s lineup has been carefully curated by GOODGOD’s Jimmy Sing andMarty Doyle to represent the incredible talent that come together to make this Sydney venue as exciting and diverse a hub of activity as anywhere in the world.
Beyond the music, of course the drinks will be flowing, there’ll be cake and The Dip, GOODGOD’s ridiculously popular diner canteen, run by Levins and Bianca Khalil will be serving up special festival treats and hosting it’s own little soundsystem all weekend!
