We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again. Gary Bigeni’s clothing has developed so much since the label’s inception. It’s not everyday that you can actually track that kind of progression, but the Bigeni style has evolved very slowly, but surely, much like the human race. First we saw the signature Bigeni drape in block pastel jersey. This was the mainstay for a couple of seasons, then slowly, more rigid fabrics were introduced. As slowly has structure came into the brand, so did print. Now SS2013 is seen as a combination of all the elements we have come to know and love.

‘Fractured Appearance’ was one of our favourite shows from MBFWA, mostly due to the clean presentation. This is translated wholly through the new lookbook, featuring model of the moment, Montana Cox. Or Montana Fox as it hilariously says on the credits. Graphic prints in cubist patterns appear three-dimensional, refractive and repetitive. Worn together, they create this 70s kaleidoscopic effect which is a delight to the eye.

The SS2012 collection was such a triumph for Bigeni, the collection will be appearing in seven David Jones stores nation wide. We must track some down.
