Last night was the launch of the much awaited Andéol & Vedas Maya exhibition at the Fraser Gallery in Chippendale. The amazing space was taken over by an Indian fantasy, complete with Indian inspired treats and henna hand painting. Guests were offered bindis on arrival, as well as a delicious glass of spiced watermelon punch. Very refreshing for a sweltering 35 degree evening! Designer Emilie Cacace’s scarf work was as incredible as we would expect – her beautiful digital prints were hand embroidered on top by traditional needle-workers in India. Tom Robey and Elanor Ackland’s illustrations and photos accompanied the scarves perfectly – all topped off by a giant scarf tent! Local disco boys Slow Blow provided the tunes, all combined to make the perfect Monday evening out!
