AINYFF AWARDS @ DINOSAUR DESIGNS

Monday night saw the third annual Australian’s in New York Fashion Foundation award taking place in Dinosaur Designs’ Redfern headquarters. The philosophy of the Foundation is to help young Australians gain world-class, hands-on experience in New York, and return home with internationally recognised training and contacts. Dinosaur Designs hosted the evening, entertaining Calvin Klein’s Malcolm Carfrae, international model booker Doll Wright, former Vogue Australia Editor Nancy Pilcher, Harper’s Bazaar fashion director Jill Davison and fashion editor Christine Centenera, fashion blogger Romy Frydman, designer Dion Lee, model Gail Elliot and MCA director Elizabeth Ann Macgregor.

Young designer and UTS Fashion graduate Natalia Grzybowski was named as the winner of the prestigious prize. Louise Olsen from Dinosaur Designs said, “We are delighted to be involved in an event that nurtures young Australian talent. It’s exciting to be able to give someone a brilliant opportunity and at the same time build the talent pool in the fashion industry.” Adds partner Stephen Ormandy, “Opening our store in New York was such an important step for Dinosaur Designs and we hope Natalia can benefit from that amazing city in a similar way.” The prize includes return airfares and a financial grant to undertake an internship of up to 6 months in the winner’s chosen field in New York.
