Future Music Festival today announced its plans to launch in Asia in March 2012. Future Entertainment’s Tours Director Brett Robinson had this to say about the ambitious new move east:
“Our vision for Future Music Festival was for it to become something that is respected and celebrated globally. Our commitment to presenting the biggest and boldest artists and best possible event experience seems to have been recognized with demand for the festival to venture abroad. With Asia on our doorstep and the wealth of talent we now tour from one side of the globe to the other it makes perfect sense for the artist to do an much as possible whilst in this region. We have had interest for several years now in launching Future Music Festival in Asia but wanted to wait for the right opportunity to present itself, which we have now found. We are excited to be announcing what we hope will be embraced as one of Asia’s biggest music festivals in coming years and very much look forward to revealing all the details very soon.”
Regarded as a ‘must do’ by many on the Australian festival calendar, it’s easy to forget that Future Music Festival has only been kicking since 2006. This year’s lineup includes Swedish House Mafia, New Order, The Rapture, Fatboy Slim, Friendly Fires and more. Head over here if you’d like to win tickets to the 2012 installment!
