Next week at the MART Gallery in Surry Hills, Sydney band Dappled Cities are holding a special event to celebrate their homecoming from a long tour overseas, as well as the visual art event with which they launched their ARIA-nominated album ‘Zounds’ last year.

The band brought their ‘Zounds’ to life by inviting 12 of their favourite visual artists to each interpret a different track from the album. The Kennards Storage facility in Alexandria was taken over by the artists who setup their installations in separate rooms where the audience enjoyed exploring the different works.

Given the event’s success, the band have decided to open it up to their fans and the MART Gallery will feature a selection of the most memorable installations from the ‘Zounds’ launch, slightly altered in what is of course a much smaller space! The gallery will also feature footage from Dappled Cities’ soon to be released DVD.
