FASHION THROUGH THE PAGES

FASHION THROUGH THE PAGES

The last two weeks have been pretty crazy for the team at pages. Following RAFW, and all the coverage that went with it we also released the latest issue of pages right in the middle of the mayhem, then we were straight back to working on the next issue. In case you missed anything we’ve wrapped up our favourite moments for you.

What was your favourite piece of fashion news this weekt? Sign up to pages and let us know!

RAFW HIGH LIGHTS:

  • We loved Josh Goot’s show, which took place in a dimly lit, disused car park in Sydney East. While our Editor reviewed the collection, we went backstage to interview the beauty crew responsible for making those models look so fresh-faced despite their fatigue after a full on week of walks!
  • Gail Sarronda was one of our Assistant Editor’s favourite shows of the week. Held onsite, the show saw models walking down the runway looking like Victorian gothic jellyfish. Read our review of the show here, and find out more about the beauty with our backstage interviews.
  • As expected, Dion Lee put on one of the most stunning shows of Rosemount Australian Fashion Week. It was held (like last year) in the Sydney Opera House. While the location may have been the same, the collection was a big leap forward for Lee. Find out why by reading our review.
  • LOVER’s Ten Year Anniversary show had to be big. And, what better place to have it than in a giant hall within Sydney’s iconic Opera House? Julia Nobis opened the show looking sleek and sexy — as polished as the world class presentation. Read our Editor’s review here.
  • Michael Lo Sordo’s RAFW presentation was, in a word, serene. The models were cool as cucumbers, and when we went backstage, so was the designer! We caught up with him for a quick interview.

THIS WEEK:

  • One of our Editor’s favourite shows at RAFW was Karla Spetic’s. Even more exciting was Spetic’s collaboration with hip jewellery label Venice! Click here to read our interview with the designer.
  • Ken Done got back into fashion by collaborating with Something Else!
  • Kristen McMenamy is the latest super to return to the world of modeling with a stunning i-D cover shoot. We love!
  • The week before RAFW, we went to check out Ginger & Smart’s new collection. Amidst the chaos of fashion week, we didn’t post our piece on it until this week! Check out the girls’ fabulous new collection here.
  • We announced that French fashion house Chloe was set to embark on a new adventure with a new head designer, which sadly means that MacGibbon is out. Find out who’s in!
  • We interviewed the designer behind Australia’s coolest young beachwear label, Nookie in the wake of her RAFW show. Read our Q&A with Nikita Sernack here!
  • We got the exclusive scoop on Saint Augustine Academy’s new fashion flick.
  • Eva Galambos told us what was what in her Fashion Week Wrap Up. We were wrapped!
  • Check out Chanel’s latest resort collection!
  • We debuted Vanishing Elephant‘s new look book online starring the handsome Lewis Grant.
  • Oh, to be a Ronson parent this week. While Mark’s confirmed he’s engaged, Charlotte is launching a collaboration with UNIQLO.
  • One of our favourite models, Aurelia Gliwski, has returned to Australia after a stint overseas to model in a new campaign. Can you guess who it is for?
  • Louis Vuitton is opening up a pop-up store during Cannes Film Festival, and it’s right next to their other store!
  • Yesterday, we took you on a tour through Australia’s incredible new menswear store, Harrolds. Can you believe it has a bar?
  • If you consider yourself a bit of a fashionista, and want to join us on the set of a shoot as well as going into the draw to win loads of prizes, GET TRENDING!
  • Would you pay to see a show at Paris Couture Week? Find out what it will cost you here!
  • Princess Beatrice received a lot of negative press over her Philip Treacy headpiece. Whether the look was hot or not, we think it’s pretty cool that she’s selling it for charity.
  • Finally, we heard news today that designer Giambattista Valli will be debuting a couture collection during Paris Couture Week this year. Exciting news!
