ELLERY SPRING 2012

Ellery presents ‘The Silent Years’ for Spring 2012, inspired by 1970s cults, sects and secret societies. An interesting reference point, but designer Kym Ellery took it one step further by looking to the “ritualistic behaviour of mislead cult members”. Some may argue that they were all slightly mislead. One only needs to reference a certain episode of The Simpsons when they are taken over by the ‘Movementarians’.

The colour palette for spring is dominated by earthy tones of pink, rust, almond and taupe, mixed back with soft and muted metallics. The lines have been extended for this collection, now including super-lean and long trouser styles, as well as slim pencil skirts that fall below the knee. We love the new addition of a bomber jacket which is sure to become a spring favourite.
