Looks like Raf Simons has an itty bitty crush on mega babe and all American girl Jennifer Lawrence. The Hunger Games actress has been named as the new face of the Miss Dior line of leathergoods. This marks Lawrence’s first major fashion campaign, a coup not-so-unlikely for a young woman who looks quite so incredible in Calvin Klein.

In a statement, designer Simons has rhapsodised about his new star’s undeniable pulling power. “I was, of course, struck by her incredible on-screen presence in these blockbuster films, but also impressed by her powerful interpretations of subtler, more rounded characters. Her youth and her classic beauty, but also her force of character and the complexity she’s capable of embodying at such a young age, are, for me, both unique and very moving.” It’s a fact evidently not lost on Lawrence’s boyfriend, Skins actor and all round Brit-it boy Nicholas Hoult who, after his appearance in 2009’s A Single Man, has become something of a muse for Tom Ford. No doubt Hoult will be giving his better half lessons in how to pout like a pro.

22-year-old Lawrence will replace Mila Kunis in her new role. The verdict’s still out on whether Kunis’ latest not-at-all-subjective title of Esquire‘s ‘Sexiest Woman Alive’ was detrimental to her role as Miss Dior. After all, her latest cover doesn’t exactly scream ‘high fashion’.
