CHLOE SEVIGNY FOR MIU MIU

Chloë Sevigny heats up the Miu Miu AW2012 campaign for the second time in her career. Previously starring in the 1996 Spring/Summer campaign, the new series is a gallery of portraits shot by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott. Sevigny impersonates a well-defined character, who vaguely, yet perceptibly, hints at psychedelic hedonism scenarios.

The clothing is seriously masculine for Miu Miu. We all know Miuccia likes to flirt with both sides of the fence, sometimes presenting something inconceivably feminine, and at other times taking man-style dressing to the next level. This particular collection was one of the more bizarre – a kaleidoscope of psychedelic prints and layers upon layers of ties, cravats and so on. It was almost fantasy like, reminding us of Alice in Wonderland, especially the eccentric Mad Hatter.

The setting for the campaign sees Sevigny in a series of stylisted interiors: thick carpeting, a modernist chair and a butter coloured background. Whilst only one image has been released thus far, we can only imagine how great the entire series is going to be. Stay tuned.
