MLC PHOTOGRAPHY EXHIBITION

!Every year the MLC Centre in Sydney holds a fashion photography exhibition, featuring some of the best photographers in Australia. This year the theme is ‘From Skyscrapers to Seashores – Life is a Beach’, giving a nod to a very Australian way of life. The exhibition itself is open from March 24 – April 7 and is free for anyone to come and see. I would definitely recommend it, especially as it features some of pages’... read more

MODERN TEMPLE

A wood-paneled hut, called Victor, designed by architect Jeffery Poss, is a soothing meditative space for relaxation and renewal of the mind.

Sitting freely on 4 stilts and accessed via a ramp, the v-shaped roof is particularly remarkable, as it acts as a funnel sending rainwater to a spout over the adjacent pond.

Views of the surrounding landscape of trees and nature can be seen through a full height window, while... read more

GREGORY & WATTS ART GUIDE

Audio tours are always widely available at art galleries, we know this. However, how many of you have actually ever shelled out the cash for one? I must say, I have never. Sure, you would get much greater insight into each artwork, but according to who? The particular curator chooses the information they wish you to hear and it is often rather generic. It is now time for an art guide with a difference.

Dr. Tim Gregory and Oliver Watts have teamed up to divulge their educated opinion and... read more

DINNER WITH THE GREATS

British Designer, Tom Dixon, has designed the Royal Academy of Arts new restaurant in London, with true charm.

With Dixon heading the project as creative director for interior design firm Design Research Studio, the opulent history of the Regency building was evoked to brilliant effect using classic materials of marble, brass and velvet, with special touches in hand made bricks and the beautiful use of a luminous lava stone on the ceiling details.

Furthering this fascinating and... read more
