ANDÉOL EXHIBITION ‘VEDAS MAYA’

Last year we profiled upcoming Australian designer Emilie Cacace and her burgeoning brand Andéol. Cacace uses her computer prowess to manipulate psychedelic patterns, then transfers these to digitally printed scarves. She finds inspiration in many things, namely travelling to far flung places around the world, generally somewhere with a rich textile history. Last time it was Guatemala and now Cacace, upon returning from India, is... read more

YAYOI KUSAMA BRISBANE

Yayoi Kusama has long been one of my favourite artists. Ever since studying her in year 10 art class, Kusama’s works have resonated with me. My first ever post for Pagesdigital was on the MCA exhibition in 2009 and I even went as far as to pilgrimage to the Japanese art island of Naoshima where Kusama’s giant yellow pumpkin lives.... read more

DON’T FORGET TO SEE GRAND CHASM

A few weeks ago we informed you of a new exhibition opening in Surry Hills. The independent First Draft gallery always has new and exciting things happening by young artists, and is really worth visiting every few weeks. Grand Chasm is currently on show and definitely one not to miss. There is also an artist talk session on Sunday 11th Dec with all the talented guys who made this 8th wonder of the world possible. My advice: stay in the room for as long as possible and don’t let anyone ‘push... read more

TENKA GAMMELGAARD’S STUDIO

Organised chaos works using a monochromatic palette, creating a graphic backdrop with only black and white in this inspiring studio of Dutch artist Tenka Gammelgaard.

An incredible signature in itself, the space allows shape and texture to dominate within an essentially colourless environment. With eye catching detail at every turn, the countless objects and arrangements have a mesmerising effect, right down to the hand painted brushes the artist customises with stripes.

This charming... read more

For their latest artistic collaboration they are presenting ‘Grand Chasm’, an installation and naturally occurring wonder. Whilst we can’t give away too many secrets we did have a chat with the gang to give you a little preview of what’s to come. What is the idea... read more

DANA TANAMACHI

The sun is shining into the Pagesdigital office on this lovely spring morning. I’m scrolling through blogs and bopping away to Gotye’s new song “In your light” which kind of makes you want to do that ridiculous dance move where you clap and stomp one foot up and down whilst moving in a fashion akin to a chicken. But back to the point. I was scrolling through blogs when I stumbled across an awesome... read more

NICK CAVE EXHIBITION

Whilst I was in New York recently I had the pleasure of seeing two Nick Cave exhibitions in Chelsea’s art district. No this isn’t Nick Cave from The Bad Seeds, this is Nick Cave, the incredible artist hailing from Chicago. He also happens to run to School of the Art Institute of Chicago’s fashion department. Upon closer inspection of his work this becomes blindingly obvious, and you wonder whether... read more
