Denmark-born, London-based designer Camilla Skovgaard is increasing her label’s presence in Australia, which is good news for fans of her superbly sculpted footwear.
Skovgaard has had quite a career so far. She’s received the 2007 Queen Elizabeth Scholar Award for Excellence in British Craftsmanship and the Swarovski Emerging Talent-Accessories Award at the 2009 British Fashion Awards. She’s well known for her exaggerated rubber sole, which the designer maintains provides the perfect grip when you’re walking in the rain or snow (the former being a regular problem faced by Sydney-siders).
Skovgaard’s footwear is sold in over 28 countries. Now, she’s being represented by Golightly PR in line with an announcement that she’s the newest footwear designer at Scanlan & Theodore. Says Golightly Director, Holly Garber, “Golightly is really happy to be working with Camilla on her Australian press strategy. It’s such an exciting young brand that is sure to be a favourite of local girls.”
