After using the Burberry AW 2010 collection as inspiration for our SHOP page a few months ago, it’s exciting that the collection is finally in-store. Much coveted are the slinky lace-panelled dresses as well as knee-length skirts and tops knotted and pleated in gauze, satin and velvet for luxurious texture. The colour palette is just as regal; for daytime, there are military inspired looks in khakis and navy blues that soften into earthy golds, mustards and plums spiked with a bright Prussian blue and magenta for evening.
If pretty is not your thing, the collection is toughened up with black leather boots; we particularly love the buckled shearling style (already sold out on Net-A-Porter) or for the brave, the snakeskin thigh-high boots that look great worn with skinny trousers and a shirt. And although it’s turning into Spring here, how do you pick from that cast of coats? From a giant-collared aviator leather jacket to this season’s reworking of the famous trench, these are pieces that will last forever. If only our wages would!
