This year, Waverley Council gave the green light to a bunch of talented and passionate Bondi locals to put together the first ever community event for the community. With a committee featuring representatives from Love Police, North Bondi Italian, Republic Of Everyone, Aquabumps Gallery, Design Is Kinky, Insight and headed up by Festival Director Darryl Nichols of Rodriguez Agency, the Bondi event will feature some very entertaining ideas that we can’t wait to see come to life.

Over the weekend from May 6-9, the festival will feature:
A pop-up cinema
The repainting of the Bondi esplanade graffiti wall with some super special guest artists
A pirate-themed soft board competition
A local art exhibition featuring 40 artists upstairs at the Beach Road Hotel
A huge lineup of bands
Local restaurants creating special Bondi-inspired dishes
A mega garage sale trailing throughout the suburb

It looks like the inner suburbs communities of Sydney have been set a challenge! Here’s hoping for some friendly rivalry that will encourage the development of local businesses and artists in the area while providing a fun day out for everyone else.
