We have been hearing about Black Swan for quite some time now when we first took a great interest due to the costume collaboration with Rodarte back in July. It’s no secret that Rodarte make beautiful clothes, and that lead star Natalie Portman is their biggest fan. Therefore, this collaboration was a no brainer, and from the limited photos we have seen, is already a major success. Black Swan was chosen to play on opening night of the Venice International Film Festival, and also selected for the Toronto Film Festival. The accolades will continue to roll in, hopefully in the form of a few Oscar nominations. Until the film opens in Australia, all we can do is watch the trailer repeatedly, trying to make sense of this psychological thriller about prima ballerina, Nina Sayers. The cinematography looks stunning, as do the performances of all involved, including Portman of course, Mila Kunis, Barbara Hershey and Winona Ryder.
