Bjork is doing it for the kids, literally. With collaborator Sjon, the Icelandic singer has written “The Comet Song” for the upcoming children’s movie Moomins And The Comet Chase.

Based around a bunch of white Moomin trolls created by Swedish-Finn illustrator and author Tove Jansson, the film depicts the ragtag pack fighting to save the earth from a planet-destroying rogue comet.

Speaking of the significance of the Moomins in her life, Bjork revealed that she had read the books as a child, and now reads the stories to her own children.

“I noticed some sort of anti-authority aspect to it,” the singer said in an interview with the BBC. “There’s no hierarchy between the characters, they’re all equal. I like that a lot.”
