Although a little hard to see due to the narrow walkways along the catwalk, it was clear Bianca Spender had been inspired by Grecian costume as well as Pre-Raphaelite romanticism. Models looking sea-swept (the beauty a little bedraggled) floated by in silk draped skirts, twisted strap chiffon tops and ruffled jumpsuits along with more tailored silk blazers, tweed pants and sleeveless jackets; all worn with flat chrome gladiator sandals.
Like the Robert Browning “quiet-coloured end of evening” quote on the show notes, colours graduated from nudes and dark blush to silver greys, cobalt blues and a mustard gold. Slashed crochet tops as well as a top-to-toe crochet jumpsuit came in stark whites. We’re not sure many will brave that particular look, but the three sweeping pin-tuck evening dresses are sure to sell.
