MAC Cosmetics really like to barrage the beauty world with all things fashion, often picking the most obscure of the bunch to participate in their coveted collaborations. 2011 was the year of the megawatt fashion star getting involved – Gareth Pugh, Daphne Guinness and Iris Apfel. Whilst all hold high notoriety within fashion and art circles, these folk are not your everyday household names. It seems MAC doesn’t care, and neither do we. We happen to LOVE their collaboration choices.

Every year to celebrate the end of the couture shows in Paris there is a special dinner held to raise money for the AIDS fund. This Gala Sidaction Diner de la mode is a star-studded event whereby all the fashionistas in town dress up to the nines to raise money for a good cause. MAC is also a major sponsor of the cause, having set up their own fund in 1994. You will remember past VIVA GLAM campaigns (umm Lady Gaga) and the fact that 100% of profits goes towards the fund. At the Sidaction dinner last week the head of The Estée Lauder Companies Inc, John Dempsey, announced the one and only Beth Ditto as the next VIVA GLAM collaborator. We can only imagine what this range will include. A lot of eyeliner, we assume.
