ANDREW W.K. NAMED CULTURAL AMBASSADOR TO THE MIDDLE EAST

In a somewhat bizarre move, the U.S. Department of State has named Andrew W.K. as a cultural ambassador to the Middle East. The rocker will visit Bahrain and bring his wise words to elementary school, the University of Bahrain and music venues across the country. A statement about his appointment states that Andrew W.K. is embarking on the trip “to promote partying and positive power.”

Andrew W.K. was ecstatic about the news, and stated that “this is a tremendous invitation. I’m very thankful to the Department of State for giving me the opportunity to visit a place I’ve never been before. And I feel very privileged and humbled by the chance to represent the United States of America and show the good people of Bahrain the power of positive partying. I can hardly wait for this adventure!” Hopefully his enthusiasm and relentless party lifestyle radiates tthroughout the region.
