In the tradition of eccentric, loosey goosey celebrations, GOODGOD is set to put the ASS in ChristmASS with two ludicrous MCs from the US of A… New Orleans Queen Diva BIG FREEDIA will be joined by Milwaukee’s maniac JUICEBOXXX for a Christmas party like no other. It’s aptly called BOOTY, BOOTY, BOOTY (ChristmASS Everywhere).
Big Freedia (pronounced “Free-da”) is the undisputed “Queen Diva” of Bounce music. Bounce music rose out of the cultural hot pot of New Orleans street parties and is recognisable by its big booming dance rhythms and it’s engaging call-and-response lyrics. Big Freedia is at the forefront of a subgenre of Bounce, reserved for self proclaimed “Sissies”. That’s a locally used term to describe sexually ambiguous and cross dressing club artists. For the first time ever this Christmas, we’ll get to experience first hand the flamboyant energy of an authentic genre-bending rap star. We’re expecting our little Danceteria to get very, very loud when Freedia channels that colourful New Orleans energy, performing hits like “Azz Everywhere” and “Gin in my System.”
Juiceboxxx is the musical antihero of his quaint Milwaukee home. Toting snot-nosed punk ethos and a whole lot of energy, this young white rapper puts his heart and soul on the line with every performance. But there are absolutely no gimmicks here, Juiceboxxx is as earnest as he is boisterous and he’ll transport us to a whole ‘nother planet when he takes the stage. His energy has seen him tour with the likes of Public Enemy, Spank Rock, and Diplo and he’s collaborated with heavy-hitting producers AC Slater, Dre Skull and XXXChange. This is his first time down under so prepare yourselves! Prepare to dance, prepare laugh, but most of all prepare to lose yourself in a frenzy of sweat-inducing- anarchic indie-dance-rap.
